Conditioning for Belly Dancers with Margaret

This conditioning class will help us build strength, endurance, and balance in our bodies and our dance while reducing the risk of injury. In each class, we will use yoga and Pilates exercises to build strength and flexibility. We will then drill basic dance moves (any style) to connect these exercises to our own dance practice, while strengthening muscle engagement and improving alignment. We will finish with a brief High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session to improve endurance. As a general conditioning class, it is appropriate for all levels and all styles of dance (and also the non-dancer). Low and high impact options will be offered. Please wear comfortable stretchy clothes, supportive exercise shoes (with clean soles to protect our dance floor!), and bring a yoga mat or blocks if you have them. Let’s sweat a little and have a lot of fun!

Fee: $13 by November 4; $15 after
