**Interested in being a part of Sunanda Tribe, WIM’s Tribal Improvisation Performance Troupe?

Sunanda Tribe is a fantastic troupe that allows students who have worked hard and want to perform a chance to do just that!  It requires work and commitment but pays off in fun and dramatic improvement in your dance!

The moves you must be proficient in to be considered for the troupe are listed below.  The mastery of the techniques and concepts from level 1 is the main criterion for admission to the troupe and is under the discretion of the troupe leader. Joining the Intermediate Tribal class is not a guarantee of admission.

In addition to technique, there are other factors that are just as important!

It is always a good idea to speak with your dance teacher about your dance goals.  If it is your goal to be considered for Sunanda Tribe, discuss this with your teacher and develop a realistic plan to achieve that goal.

Dancers must be able to perform the following moves with proficiency as well as demonstrate the ability to lead and follow all slow and fast moves on the list:

Dancers must also be proficient with:

  • Dancing while zilling the Gallop zil pattern
  • Properly transitioning into and out of duets, trios, quartets and chorus
  • Musicality and staying on the down beat in the music

Arabic Hip Twist (1/2 turns)

Basic Pivot Bump/Choo-Choo (turning, moving forward)

Basic Ghawazee (moving, 1/4 turns)
